Description
This is a hybrid on-line / classroom course. Pre-course assignments will allow for a greater optimization of time for interaction between students and instructors. This class is for the fire officer looking to improve their leadership skills and gain a better understanding of the managerial / administrative level of the fire service. This interactive, scenario driven training, will require participation by all students with the goal of professional development along with helping students prepare for professional advancement. You will handle real world scenarios presented by instructors who have managed similar incidents during their careers. These scenarios are chosen to meet the Job Performance Requirements outlined in NFPA 1021.
Special Requirements
Candidates must have completed Fire Officer 1 and 2, hold a valid certificate to practice as a firefighter issued under section 4765.55 of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) or equivalent. Students should bring, or have access to, a computer with a word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
