For qualified firefighters who wish to complete their fire safety inspector certification with a combination of concentrated class work and online learning.
REGISTER BY August 22. The online section of the class is August 22 thru October 8 and students work at their own pace with weekly assignments. The in-class portion is taught at BGSU during the week of October 9-13. You must successfully complete the online course work in order to progress to the in-class section. The State exam will be available October 13.
Must be registered by August 15.
Special Requirements
OAC 4765-11-14: Each student shall be certified as a firefighter under section 4765.55 of the Revised Code. Each student shall be employed by one of the following: A firefighting agency as defined in division (A)(5) of section 9.60 of the Revised Code; A private firefighting company as defined in division (A)(5) of section 9.60 of the Revised Code that is providing fire protection in accordance with division (B), (C), or (D) of section 9.60 of the Revised Code. Students must complete NIMS IS-100 and IS-700 prior to certification.
