Ohio has rapidly become one of the worst states for rates of opioid overdose deaths. Erie County has mirrored this rise, with overdose deaths spiking to increasing levels. Five years ago, the Erie County Health Department (ECHD) began discussing this growing concern related to opioid addiction and overdose deaths in the area. In 2013, ECHD convened a collaborative group of concerned individuals to address the community’s rising opioid crisis. Hardy will discuss the local plans for “The Circle of Care,” and how they were developed.
