Versailles Treaty and its Failure

This course will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the negotiations that created the settlement at the end of the First World War. There will be a  discussion of the important clauses and agreements in the treaties that ended the war with a special emphasis upon the various "messes" that were created by the largely unfair treaty that ended the war.  After discussion of Woodrow Wilson's 14 Points and the Versailles Treaty and its clauses we will tie the settlements of the treaty into the major problems of the 20th century such as Nazism, Fascism, World War II, The Cold War and Problems in the Middle East.
