Think you have what it takes to work with a SWAT team and provide out-of-hospital care in a tactical environment? The austere environment of a tactical law enforcement mission requires special judgment and skills not taught in standard EMS courses or medical school. This course is an intense classroom and physically challenging training program designed to provide the medical provider with valuable advanced combat medical skills combined with intense tactical training and the ability to use them both in extreme environments.
Topics include the role of the tactical medicine provider, medical threat assessment and barricade medicine, wound management, dynamic clearing techniques and team movement, gear selection / improvised gear, firearms use for a medic, advanced airway management in the tactical environment, and advanced airway labs.

Students are required to wear the tactical uniform of his or her department. Standard work uniforms do not usually provide adequate protection for the field environment and may be damaged. If your department does not have a tactical uniform: military style BDU's, "combat" style boots, and weather appropriate clothing are acceptable.
The following items will be required and please be advised these items will be exposed to field conditions including but not limited to water immersion, mud, training ammunition, OC exposure, and others. As such multiple changes may be required daily please be prepared.
