This course will cover pump and hydraulic theory needed to become a proficient pump operator. Students will operate from pressurized and static water sources while relaying and pumping multiple handlines of various sizes and flows. Challenges of elevated streams will be examined from an aerial apparatus and standpipe systems. Throughout the course students will examine ways to troubleshoot pump issues that come up on the fire ground.
You are required to have your 36 Hour Volunteer Firefighter Certification. Students should bring turnout gear and two pairs of work gloves.
