Description
Today's engine companies face reduced staffing, higher call volumes, and buildings that are more difficult to access than ever before. Quickly gaining entry is one of the most important jobs on the fireground, but many firefighters have limited hands-on training beyond the basics.
Access Under Pressure is a practical, hands-on course focused on the forcible entry skills needed by the first due engine company. Students will learn proper tool selection, efficient techniques, teamwork, and decision-making while operating in realistic, low-visibility, live-fire conditions.
Training includes forcing inward- and outward swinging doors, defeating common locking systems, and working effectively with limited staffing. The course also reinforces how forcible entry supports fire attack, search, and overall incident success.
Participants will leave with practical skills and confidence they can immediately apply on the fireground to gain access quickly, safely, and efficiently.
